Wood Occupations Site Carpentry Level 2

Overview

This qualification is for candidates who work or want to work as a site carpenter in the construction sector.

You will be working on a construction site, domestic and commercial premises to given specifications and carry out site carpentry to first and second fixing (door frames, hanging doors, boxing pipes, window frames and floor joists).


On completion of this qualification the learner will achieve the following:
► City & Guilds Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Wood Occupations (Construction) - Site Carpentry
► City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Site Carpentry

Course Content

Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Wood Occupations - Architectural Joinery Site Carpentry requires learners to complete all mandatory units and a selection of optional units
Level 2 Diploma in Site Carpentry requires learners to complete all mandatory units and a selection of optional units

Method of Study

The two separate qualifications are knowledge and competence-based qualifications delivered mainly at the learners place of work. Each learner is assigned an individual Training Officer who schedules visits on a monthly basis.

  • Those who are currently working in a site carpentry role and require a nationally recognised qualification
  • Learners who wish to follow a career in wood construction and progress to further qualifications

Entry Requirements

For a funded Level 2 programme applicants must be:
Employed with a contract for a minimum of 16 hours per week at a rate of pay equal to, or in excess of, the National Minimum Wage. The job role must be suitable for the learner to be able to display occupational competence.
