Fenestration Level 2

Overview

This qualification is for people who are working as conservatory, window and door installers and will demonstrate your competence of fenestration installation. You must be comfortable working outdoors, at heights and handling heavy equipment.


On completion of this qualification the learner will achieve the following:
► Industry qualification (IQ) Level 2 Diploma in Fenestration Installation (QCF)
► Industry qualification (IQ) Level 2 Certificate in Glass Related Operations

Please note that learners must be comfortable working outdoors and at heights.

Course Content

The mandatory units of this course will cover:

Health and safety.
Transporting.
Handling and positioning and materials.
Components and installation requirements.

 

The three optional groups cover:
Preparing, installing and post installation.

Method of Study

Combined knowledge and competence-based qualification delivered mainly at the learners place of work. Each learner is assigned an individual Training Officer who schedules visits on a monthly basis.

Ideal For

  • Learners to demonstrate that they are competent and professional in the area of UPVC frames in the workplace
  • Learners to show knowledge and skills with regards to their ability to install UPVC doors, windows and conservatories
  • Recognised industry qualification

Entry Requirements

 

For a funded Level 2 programme applicants must be:
Employed with a contract for a minimum of 16 hours per week at a rate of pay equal to, or in excess of, the National Minimum Wage. The job role must be suitable for the learner to be able to display occupational competence.
