Bench Work, Carpentry and Joinery Level 1

Overview

The Level 1 programme introduces the learner to carpentry and joinery skills. It allows candidates to learn, develop and practice the skills required for employment and/or career progression in carpentry or joinery. It is aimed at learners aged 16 and above who work or want to work in the construction industry and specialise in working with wood.

Course Content

Carry out safe working practices in construction
Information, quantities and communicating with others
Building methods and construction technology
Produce basic woodworking joints
Maintain and use carpentry and joinery hand tools
Prepare and use carpentry and joinery portable power tool
