Two finalists in the Apprenticeship Awards Cymru 2017
Everyone at Torfaen Training was so excited when news reached us that Rebecca Crook was shortlisted for Apprenticeship Awards Cymru 2017, we couldn’t have been more pleased. Then we found out that our very own practitioner, Kelly Nancarrow had also reached the final.., we were speechless. To get one finalist was more than what we could have hoped for, but two was astonishing.
Both were winners in the Torfaen Training Awards in May, Kelly was our Practitioner of the year and Rebecca, from Little Inspirations Nursery Barry, won the Higher Apprenticeship award. It was evident that all the winning candidates had the potential to be recognised at a higher level, so entering the Welsh Government’s Traineeships and Apprenticeships Awards was the next logical step.
From the hundreds of candidates that must have entered Kelly was shortlisted for the Work-based Learning Assessor of the year and Rebecca the Higher Apprenticeship award. Out of the whole of Wales there are only 30 candidates spread over 11 categories, so we are very proud to have 2 in the final.
Created and organised by the Welsh Government and the National Training Federation for Wales (NTfW), the awards provides a platform to showcase the exceptional achievements of industry individuals and organisations each year. The Awards are sponsored by Pearson PLC and supported by Media Wales and take place on 20th October in Newport’s Celtic Manor Resort.
Torfaen Training would like to wish good luck to all the candidates and especially our very own finalists Kelly and Rebecca.
